Feltiella acarisuga is a midge that, in their larval stage, will kill and eat spider mites. They have exceptional hunting behavior that allows them to detect spider mite hotspots.
Female midges hunt for spider mite colonies to lay their eggs next to laying around 30 eggs over five days. The eggs hatch in less than two days after being laid. Larvae begin feeding on spider mites right away. Feltiella can control all stages of spider mites.
